In this tutorial, you will add a practice time entry, change its duration and check the result on your timesheet.
Before you start
Use a training account or a practice project provided by your administrator. You need an editable draft timesheet and a task that allows time entry. Do not record fictional time against live client work.
1. Open your timesheet
Select Time, then Personal if a menu appears. Check the displayed week. Select List View for this exercise.
2. Add the practice task
Search for your practice project and select a task. The task appears as a row on the timesheet.
3. Record one hour
Select a day cell on that task. Enter 1:00 as the duration and Practice time entry as the description. Select Save Time. The task, daily and weekly totals increase by one hour.
4. Change the entry to 90 minutes
Expand the task row and select the saved entry for that day. Change its duration to 1:30 and save. Use the saved entry, rather than the task’s add-time cell, to avoid creating a second entry.
Your weekly total is now 1:30 higher than before the exercise.
5. Finish the exercise
Leave the practice week in Draft and follow your administrator’s instructions for removing practice data. During normal work, change a completed week to Finalised when it is ready for your configured approval process.
