Move existing time entries to another project or task from a project or opportunity Time tab. Use this when you need to reallocate entries between jobs, including from an opportunity onto a project. This is separate from the timesheet List or Calendar views. For a single entry on an editable draft timesheet, see How to edit a time entry instead.
You need permission to edit those entries. A project role with Edit All Time Entries covers editing task time on those jobs, including from the project’s Time tab. See Drum Permissions for when to use each option.
Move entries from the Time tab
Open the source project or opportunity.
Select the Time tab.
Select the time entries you want to move.
In the destination fields that appear for the move (project and task), set where the time should go. The project field is filled with the current project by default. If you are moving the time to a different project, change the project to the destination job first, then choose the destination task. If you are only moving the time to another task on the same project, leave the project as it is and change the task only.
Optionally tick Update to latest billable rate if the moved time should use the destination project’s current billable rate.
Select Update time entries.
You can move time from an opportunity onto a project, or between projects, using the same steps.
Update to latest billable rate
When you tick Update to latest billable rate before selecting Update time entries, Drum applies the destination project’s current billable rate to the time you are moving. Only tick it when you intend that rate change.
Invoiced time and other limits
Invoiced time cannot move to a different project. It must stay on the project it was invoiced against. Within the same project, a task change may still be possible when the field is available. For a single-entry correction on an editable draft timesheet, use How to edit a time entry.
