Update an existing opportunity’s details, follow-up work and notes as the sale progresses. You need permission to edit opportunities.

Update opportunity details

  1. Open Opportunities and select the opportunity’s name.

  2. Under Opportunity Details, click the value you want to change, such as Deal Value, Lead Score, a date, Tags or Description.

  3. Enter or select the new value. If a save button appears, click the tick to save. Otherwise, check that the selected value appears on the page.

  4. Repeat for any other details, then refresh the page to confirm your changes were saved.

You can also click values in the Opportunities list to edit them directly. This is useful for updating several opportunities.

Keep the deal value, lead score, estimated dates and revenue structure up to date so your sales forecasts reflect the latest information.

Update follow-up work

Open the Work tab to update the tasks grouped under each deliverable.

  • Click a task’s status and choose its new status.

  • Click the assigned person or Assign to change who is responsible.

  • Click a task’s due date to update it.

  • Click a deliverable’s status to change the status of that group.

Check the updated task or deliverable after making each change.

Add a note

  1. In the Notes section, select Add Note.

  2. Enter the update and save the note.

  3. Check that it appears in the opportunity’s notes.

Change the pipeline stage

To move the opportunity through your pipeline, click the current Opportunity Status and choose the appropriate stage. Updating its deal value or notes does not change its stage automatically.
