Proposal fields reference

Look up the sidebar fields, statuses and tabs on an opportunity proposal.

This reference covers the fields on an opportunity proposal. Labels and available templates depend on your account’s configuration. Variation proposals have a separate workflow.

Proposal details

Field

Meaning and behaviour

Proposal number

The identifying number displayed below Edit Proposal. It is also used in the proposal list.

Status

The proposal’s workflow state. Available choices depend on your permissions; see the status table below.

Description

An optional summary of the proposal. This is separate from descriptions on individual line items.

Expiry date

The date recorded as the proposal’s expiry.

Sent date

The date recorded for sending the proposal. A recorded date is not evidence that Drum sent an email.

Currency

The currency used for the proposal’s monetary values. Default uses the account’s default currency.

Proposal Template

The template used for the proposal. Changing it on an ordinary opportunity proposal permanently replaces changes made to that proposal. The screen displays a warning before this choice.

Project Template (optional)

A specific template for converting the proposal into a project. Use default templates uses the account’s default project templates.

Tags

Labels attached to the proposal for organisation and filtering.

Proposal statuses

Status

Meaning

Draft

The proposal is being prepared.

Awaiting Approval

The proposal is waiting for internal approval.

Approved

The proposal has internal approval. This is distinct from client acceptance.

Sent

The proposal is recorded as sent to the client.

Accepted

The proposal is recorded as accepted by the client. The project conversion action becomes available when its other requirements are met.

Declined

The client has declined the proposal.

Cancelled

The proposal has been withdrawn or is no longer proceeding.

Changing the status to Accepted does not automatically create a project. Conversion is a separate action. Status choices shown to a user depend on their permissions.

Proposal

The customer-facing stages and line items, including quantity, price, account and tax details.

Project Budget

The internal deliverables, tasks, resource estimates, expense estimates and pricing associated with the proposal.

Settings

Settings for the associated proposal budget.

Associated Projects

Links to projects associated with the proposal, when present.

Notes and Activity

Proposal notes and a history of recorded changes.
