Turn an accepted opportunity proposal into an active project with its deliverables, tasks and budget.
Before you begin
Confirm that the client has agreed to proceed.
Review the proposal’s scope and prices, and set up its project budget.
Make sure you have permission to manage proposals and create projects.
This guide covers a new project. For additional work on an existing project, use How to manage an opportunity variation.
Accept the proposal
Open the opportunity, select Proposals and open the proposal the client accepted.
Check the line items and totals against the agreed scope.
Set Status to Accepted if it is not already selected. This makes the conversion option available.
Accepting the proposal updates the related opportunity’s sales status and value. You still need to complete the conversion below to create the project.
Review and convert
Select Convert to Project near Download Word Document.
Review the Project Structure Preview. Check the deliverables, tasks, hours and budget before creating the project.
If the budget structure needs changes, select adjust the structure set by the budget here, make the corrections and return to the conversion preview.
When the preview is correct, select Convert to Project to finalise.
Check the new project
Drum opens the new project. Check that:
The Work tab contains the expected deliverables and tasks.
The Budget tab reflects the structure and amounts you reviewed.
The related opportunity is marked as won.
The project is ready to assign, schedule and track. If the conversion option is unavailable, first check that the proposal’s status is Accepted.
