Steps on How to Edit a Time Entry
Step 1: Find the task on your timesheet.
Navigate to Time in the top navigation bar. Locate the project group and task row you want to edit.
🆕 New in this update: In the updated UI, tasks are grouped by project. Use the day filter chips or scroll to locate the right project group.
Step 2: Expand the task to see time entries.
Click the blue chevron icon to the left of the task name. This expands the task and shows all time entries recorded for that week.
📌 Note: If the task doesn't expand, there are no time entries recorded for it in the current week.
Step 3: Click on the time entry you want to edit.
Each row beneath the task represents a separate time entry. Click on the entry (for example, on the duration value like 02:00) to open the edit form.
Step 4: Make your changes.
In the edit form, you can update any of the following:
Field | What You Can Change |
Duration | Update the hours and minutes in HH:MM format. |
Description | Click the description text and type to update or replace it. |
Role (if shown) | Change the billing role if you worked in a different capacity. |
Step 5: Save your changes.
Click Save Time (or the equivalent save button) to confirm your edits. Your changes will be saved, and the timesheet totals will be updated automatically.
💡 Tips:
Your changes are usually saved automatically once you finish editing, just make sure to quickly review them for accuracy.
You can click the blue chevron icon again to close the task and keep your timesheet neat and easy to read.
Editing in Calendar View (New)
🆕 New in this update: If you're using the new Calendar View, you can edit time entries directly from the calendar grid.
1: Switch to Calendar View using the toggle at the top of the timesheet.
2: Locate the time block you want to edit.
Your time entries appear as coloured blocks on the calendar. Find the block for the entry you want to change.
Step 3: Click the block to open the edit form.
Clicking on a time block opens the same edit form as in list view. Update the duration, description, or role as needed, then click Save Time.
Step 4: Resize the block to adjust time (optional).
In the calendar view, you can also drag the top or bottom edge of a time block to extend or shorten it. The duration will update automatically.
💡 Tip: Use whichever view feels more natural to you. Both methods update the same underlying time entry- there is no difference in how the data is saved.
📌 Helpful Notes
If you need to remove a time entry entirely, see: How to Delete a Time Entry in Drum.
Log edits as soon as you notice a mistake- this makes approvals and reporting more straightforward.
⚠️ Important: Once a timesheet week has been submitted for approval, you may not be able to edit entries without reverting the status first. Contact your Drum administrator if you need to make changes to an approved or submitted week.
