Overview

Keeping your timesheet accurate is essential for tracking work, reporting progress, and ensuring correct billing. In Drum, editing a time entry is simple and flexible. You can update the time spent, adjust descriptions, or change billing details at any point during the week.

This guide walks you through how to quickly find and edit your existing time entries so your records stay up to date.

Why Editing Time Entries Matters

Editing time entries allows you to:

  • Correct mistakes in logged time

  • Add more detail to your work descriptions

  • Update billing roles or classifications

  • Keep your timesheet accurate before submission

Whether you’re refining details or fixing an error, this feature ensures your timesheet reflects your actual work.

Steps on How to Edit a Time Entry

Step 1: Open the Task

  • Locate the task you want to edit in your timesheet

  • Click the blue chevron icon to the left of the task name

  • This will expand the task and display all time entries for the selected week

💡 Note: If the task doesn’t expand, it means there are no time entries recorded for that task in the current week.

Step 2: Find the Time Entry

  • Once expanded, your time entries will appear directly below the task

  • Each row represents a recorded time entry for that task.

Step 3: Edit the Description

  • Click on the existing description text

  • Type to update or replace the description

💡 Note: Click on a time entry (for example, 02:00) to make changes. From here, you can update the time spent, edit the description, or adjust the billable role if needed.

💡 Tips:

  • Your changes are usually saved automatically once you finish editing, just make sure to quickly review them for accuracy.

  • You can click the blue chevron icon again to close the task and keep your timesheet neat and easy to read.
