What's New in the Updated Timesheet UI
The new timesheet includes several layout improvements. Here's what to expect when you open it.
Grouped by Project
🆕 New in this update: Tasks are now grouped by project. All tasks under the same project appear together, making it much easier to find your work at a glance.
Sticky Header -Day Summaries Always Visible
🆕 New in this update: The day summary row (showing total hours per day) is now fixed to the top of the screen. As you scroll down through a long list of tasks, your daily totals remain visible at all times.
Day Filter Chips
🆕 New in this update: Above the timesheet, you'll see a row of day chips (Mon, Tue, Wed, etc.). Click any chip to filter the timesheet to show only that day's tasks. This is especially useful if you have many tasks across the week. Click the chip again to return to the full week view. You can also toggle between Week and Day view using the buttons in the top bar.
Week Navigation
To move between weeks, use the navigation arrows in the updated top bar area. The status indicator remains in the top-right corner of the timesheet.
Calendar View (Optional)
🆕 New in this update: A new Calendar View option is now available. This is optional; you can continue using the default list/grid view if you prefer.
The calendar view shows your timesheet as a weekly calendar grid. You can click and drag from your start to your end time for each entry. This is useful if you want to track exactly when during the day you worked on something or if you're working on multiple projects per day, resulting in the grid view being too "busy".
💡 Tip: Both views show the same data. Switching to calendar view does not change your time entries- it's just a different way to interact with them.
Timesheet Access by Role
User Role | What They Can See | Navigation Path |
Regular User | Their own timesheet only | Time |
Team Approver | Their assigned team's timesheets | Time → Personal or Time → Staff (team) |
Admin / Manager | All staff timesheets | Time → Personal or Time → Staff (all) |
⚠️ Important: If you expect to see a Staff option but it's not showing, your account may not have the correct permissions. Contact your Drum administrator to check.
Helpful Tips
💡 Tip 1: Always check you're on the correct week before logging time. Use the week navigation arrows at the top of the timesheet.
💡 Tip 2: Use the day filter chips to quickly focus on a single day if your timesheet has a lot of tasks.
💡 Tip 3: If you prefer to see start and finish times alongside your tasks, try switching to the Calendar View using the toggle at the top of the timesheet.
