Before You Start
You have the permissions required to change a deliverable's rate card.
You know which deliverable needs the custom rate card.
You know which rate card you want to apply to it.
Set a Custom Rate Card for a Deliverable
Option A: Set It Directly on the Deliverable
Step 1. Open the project and locate the deliverable
Go to the project that contains the deliverable, then find it in the deliverables list.
Step 2. Open the three-dot menu
Click the three vertical dots (⋮) to the right of the deliverable row to open its options menu.
Step 3. Select the rate card option
Choose the option to update or assign a rate card.
Step 4. Choose the rate card
Select the rate card you want to apply to this deliverable.
Step 5. Save your change
Confirm your selection. The deliverable will now show the assigned rate card's name next to its title.
Option B: Set It Through a Project Variation
Step 1. Create or open a project variation
Start a new variation on the project, or open an existing one you're working on.
Step 2. Add or select the deliverable
Within the variation, add the deliverable that needs a different rate card, or select it if it's already listed.
Step 3. Assign the rate card
Set the rate card for that deliverable the same way as in Option A.
Step 4. Save the variation
Save the variation to apply the change
Important: Once a deliverable has its own rate card, all staff time logged against tasks inside it will bill using that rate card, not the project default. Double-check this is the intended outcome before saving.
Expected Result
The rate card's name appears next to the deliverable, so it's easy to spot at a glance.
Staff time logged against tasks within that deliverable now uses that rate card, not the project default.
Every other deliverable in the project keeps using the project's default rate card.
Can't See the Option?
You'll need the correct permissions to change a deliverable's rate card. If the option isn't available to you, check with your Drum administrator.
