Overview

Changing a project's Rate Card, or updating the rates on an existing Rate Card, does not automatically change time entries that have already been logged. Use this guide when you want selected historic time entries to use the current billable rate.

Why this matters

Historic time entries keep the rate that applied when they were logged. Drum does not automatically change them because they are treated as accurate for that point in time.

Before You Start

  • You have access to the project containing the time entries you want to update.

  • The project's assigned Rate Card already has the billable rate you want to apply.

Update Historic Time Entries

  1. Open the project's Time tab

  2. Open the project containing the time entries you want to update, then select Time.

  3. Select the time entries

  4. Select the checkbox next to each time entry you want to update. Only the selected entries will be updated.

  5. Select "Update to latest billable rate"

  6. Select Update to latest billable rate. Drum applies the current billable rate that matches each entry's role on the project's assigned Rate Card.

  7. Update the selected time

  8. Click Update Selected Times, then confirm the update.

Expected Result

The selected time entries now reflect the latest billable rate from the project's assigned Rate Card.

For example, a Junior Staff entry may change from $400/hour to $300/hour when the current Rate Card rate for that role is $300/hour.

Quick Checklist

☐ Opened the correct project's Time tab

☐ Selected the time entries to update

☐ Selected Update to latest billable rate

☐ Clicked Update Selected Times and confirmed

☐ Confirmed the selected entries now show the updated rate
