BEFORE YOU START

Have you setup your Company requirements for:

WHAT IS A RESOURCE?

A "Resource" is an asset such as (equipment, contractors, staff members) to be utilised within Drum for the purpose of scheduling workloads, making calendar bookings, recording work in progress and tracking costs and billables.

A Resource:-

  1. Can be linked to a User Account;

  2. Can be booked in the calendar;

  3. Can have it's own unique cost and billable rate. If not, a Resource is not allocated a unique cost or Billable Rate, the cost and billable rate will default to that of the assigned Resource Type.

TIP: Ensure you refer to Drum's Glossary for full definitions of key terms including Admin, Member, Resource and Resource Type to help you on your way.

QUICK STEPS

  1. Select "Other" from the top navigation pane.

  2. Select "Resources" from the drop-down;

  3. Select the "Add a Resource" button;

  4. Select "Name" and enter the name or identifier for the new Resource;

  5. Optionally, select "Code" to add a unique code or label for the Resource;

  6. Select "Description" and enter the job title (for staff or contractor) or details (for vehicles or field equipment);

  7. Select the relevant timezone;

  8. Select the relevant Public Holiday Region;

  9. Optionally, select your User from the "Associated User Account" drop-down. This will only apply if your Resource has an active User account which is not assigned to another Resource

  10. Optionally select "Default Resource Type" from the drop-down. This Resource Type will form the default cost/billable rate for your Resource, unless they have a unique cost/billable rate.

  11. Optionally select the drop-down "Nominate Resource Types Eligible for this Resource" and select additional Resource Types for this Resource.

  12. Select the bookable checkbox if this Resource is to be bookable in Drum's calendar;

  13. Select "Save Resource" Button;

  14. If you would like to add a unique cost/billable rate for your Resource then follow these instructions.
