When you add a new cost-to-complete estimate on a project's Budget tab, Drum fills in some task rows for you. This reference explains how tasks you've already marked as finished, and tasks that have gone over budget, are handled.
Completed tasks carry forward
If a task was 100% complete in the previous approved estimate, the new estimate gets a row for it straight away. This happens even when auto-populate is turned off.
The row copies the values from the previous estimate, so you don't need to set the task to 100% again each month.
The row stays editable. If work has started again on the task, change the percentage or the cost to complete like any other row.
The Estimate button on a completed task works as normal. It's no longer greyed out with a note saying the task was already 100% complete.
Over-budget tasks
When you select Estimate on a task that has used more than its budget, Drum suggests 100% complete with $0 left to spend. It no longer suggests a negative cost to complete, so an over-budget task doesn't reduce your estimate total.
What this doesn't cover
This applies to tasks estimated from their budget. Tasks estimated line by line from their planned resources or costs work as before.
Estimates you've already approved stay as they are. A task that was locked as complete in your latest approved estimate has no row there, so set it to 100% one more time in your next estimate. After that it carries forward on its own.
