Creating Custom Fields in Drum Account

This SOP outlines the steps to create and attach custom fields to projects or opportunities in your Drum account.

Key Steps

1. Access Settings 0:17

  • Click on your profile icon.

  • Select 'Settings' from the dropdown menu.

  • Scroll down in the left-hand column to find 'Custom Fields'.

2. Create a New Custom Field 0:33

  • Click on 'Custom Fields'.

  • Click on 'Create Custom Field'.

  • Choose a field type (e.g., Long Text).

  • Enter a field name (e.g., 'Contract Requirements').

  • Click 'Save Custom Field'.

3. Add Helper Text (Optional) 0:55

  • Optionally, add helper text or a placeholder to assist users in filling out the field correctly.

4. Create Additional Custom Fields 1:23

  • Repeat the process to create another custom field (e.g., a link for 'Contract Document').

  • Ensure the link is to a web-based file (e.g., SharePoint, Dropbox, Google Drive).

5. Attach Custom Fields to Project Templates 1:43

  • Navigate to 'Templates'.

  • Click on 'Project Templates'.

  • Select the template you want to modify (e.g., 'Baseline Templates').

  • Scroll down to add custom fields.

6. Add Custom Fields to the Templates

  • Select the custom fields you created (e.g., 'Contract Document' and 'Contract Requirements').

  • Confirm that they are added to the project template.

7. Sync Custom Fields to Active Projects 3:13

  • If needed, go back to 'Settings'.

  • Click on 'Sync to Active Projects' to apply changes to existing projects.

  • Confirm the sync process.

  • Go to a specific project (e.g., 'Willow Oaks').
